Gunna Coming to South Africa!

Hip-hop heads, mark your calendars — Gunna is officially coming to South Africa! The multi-platinum Atlanta star will headline Milk + Cookies Music Week South Africa 2026, a vibrant 21-day festival blending music, creativity, and community.

Following a record-breaking 2025 debut headlined by Kaytranada, which drew over 20,000 attendees, the festival returns even bigger. This time, Gunna takes center stage — performing at Kenilworth Racecourse in Cape Town on Saturday, 3 January 2026, and at Nasrec Expo Centre in Johannesburg on Saturday, 10 January 2026.

Gunna, known for massive hits like “Drip Too Hard” and “Push Up”, will be joined by South African heavyweights DJ Kent in Johannesburg and Vigro Deep in Cape Town. Expect high-octane performances that merge hip-hop, amapiano, and house, showing just how deeply South Africa’s sound is influencing the global scene.

“We’re coming back to South Africa because its culture sets the pace for the world,” said Chase Freeman, Head of Marketing at Milk + Cookies. “Last year, we saw how Atlanta’s energy blends naturally with SA’s incredible culture. With Gunna headlining alongside DJ Kent and Vigro Deep, we’re here to uplift local talent and show the world how South Africa is shaping global culture.”

But it’s not just about the music. Milk + Cookies Music Week is also building bridges within South Africa’s creative industries. The 2026 edition will feature writing camps, workshops, panels, and merch pop-ups, all designed to empower local creatives and strengthen the country’s artistic ecosystem.

“Our programming equips South African creatives with everything they need to enter the industry confidently and authentically,” added Jhordan Gibbs, Director of Business Development and Strategy at Milk + Cookies. “True creativity thrives when we invest in people.”

The event’s Corporate Social Investment (CSI) efforts will focus on local job creation, community upliftment, and giving young artists access to global networks and mentorship.

With Gunna headlining and South African talent anchoring the lineup, Milk + Cookies Music Week 2026 promises more than just concerts — it’s a full-on cultural exchange celebrating sound, soul, and shared energy between continents.

Stay tuned for additional acts and full festival programming, set to be revealed in the coming weeks via Milk + Cookies’ official social channels.
